Popular Filipino shoe designer Jojo Bragais is one celebrity who wants to put his name and fortune to good use.

This young international heels maker is once again lending his talents to support the frontliners and regional hospital units in his hometown in Albay.

“I have raised more than P211,000 for our frontliners in Bicol. I want to thank all those who supported me in this effort. I am praying that I could raise more. God bless you,” said Bragais in an exclusive online interview.

Bragais, the official shoe designer of the prestigious Bb. Pilipinas pageant, said that he has earlier donated items to Bicol such as aerosol boxes, gallons of alcohol, face shields, raw mats, face masks, and personal protective equipment (PPE) suits.

“I am preparing my permit and my second wave of donations. I will travel to Bicol once again this week, ” said Bragais, who will personally deliver these items to the province.

Aside from hospitals, Bragais said that he will also give some of these items to the military personnel assigned at checkpoints.

From Albay, the shoe designer said that he hopes to take his charity to other places in Bicol such as Naga and Sorsogon. “Uunahin ko muna ang hometown ko which is Albay. Baka isunod ko ang Naga at Sorsogon. Pero pag kakayanin pa ng logistics ko, balak ko puntahan ang Catanduanes at Masbate.”

Among the recipients of his donations were the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital in Daraga, Albay; Mother Seton Hospital, Naga City; Sorsogon Provincial Hospital; Ziga Memorial Hospital, Tabaco; city jail in Legaspi; and regional health unit, Tabaco City.

“I also included na rin jails among the recipients kasi para maiwasan ang hawaan ng virus sa loob,” he said.

Bragais has become one of the most sought-after shoe designers in pageants here and abroad. His shoes have also been worn by Hollywood stars and international beauty queens. This Bicolano has also branched out into men’s line and perfumery.

“Let’s stay safe all the time. Stay at home,” he added. (Robert R. Requintina)#
